For our FutureFrom the very beginning, it has been FRUTANIA’s tradition to think of those who are not privileged, whether for social or health reasons. FRUTANIA is always open to concerns of charity matters from the social sphere. What distinguishes all the projects we support is that we maintain a direct, personal contact, so we know that our money arrives and that we can fully stand behind these projects. In 2020, all charitable organisations had the problem that all events where money is normally collected were cancelled. Here is a brief overview of the 2020 projects.
School in Jérémie in Haiti
One project that we have supported from the very beginning at FRUTANIA is a school in Jérémie in Haiti, which we had the pleasure of getting to know through our tax advisor at the time, Mrs. Freckmann - herself a native of Haiti. In addition to daily learning, this school offers a warm lunch for the children. A fact that has a very special importance in Corona times. The budget for a family there is 2€/day. Now the Corona problem has been added, many families have lost their income. Next year, it is planned to expand the school for the 9th grade; so far, only up to the 8th grade is taught there.
Bunter Kreis Rheinland
An association that we have been supporting in many ways for about 3 years is the Bunter Kreis Rheinland, known to many people in the region. It is an association from Bad Neuenahr that cares for families with seriously ill children. We maintain very good personal contact with the Orth family, the chairpersons of the association, and are thus able to carry out many individual activities, from pumpkin carving in the „Marktscheune“ or the handing over of a crispy house to an institution to the permanent donation box at the „Marktscheune“. The guided tour we did at FRUTANIA in 2019 for the impacted children and their families is still well remembered by us and our staff. Much of it had to be cancelled in 2020 due to corona. Fortunately, the holiday camp "Tatendrang", which we have been supporting for 2 years, was not.
For years we have had very good personal contact with the Cologne-based Refugees Foundation. They regularly travel to Greece and supply the people in the refugee camps with relief goods. This was the first time we provided active support for an aid transport to Samos via our own logistics! A great project that actually arrived "just in time" before Greece went into lockdown and we probably would have had problems with the delivery of the relief goods to Samos. Here are a few photos of the packing of the relief goods, in which we participated personally. A big thank you to the logistics team who did a great job with this project!
