We cover the early season with high-quality produce from Greece and Spain.

In Germany our very long, natural season stretches from the Palatinate, greater Koblenz, and the Rhineland to the late cherry harvest on Lake Constance and the Altes Land region.

Plums

Thanks to our intensive collaboration with our producers from all of Germany’s significant growing regions, we offer a long, natural season with a correspondingly long harvest window. We have access to large quantities and are as independent of the weather as possible because we have spread out production to different regions. That means we can make plans down to the day.

The damson plum harvest runs from the end of June to mid-October. It starts with the first early damsons from Hungary, Bosnia and Macedonia, followed by the first early German damsons. We harvest damsons from late locations and under cover until mid-October. Frutania always supplies freshly harvested produce and no long storage periods in controlled-atmosphere buildings.

Early varieties: Katinka | St. Hubertus | Tegera
Early mid-season varieties: Cacaks Schöne | Hanka | Topfive | Hanita
Late mid-season varieties: Auerbacher | Toptaste | C. Fruchtbare | Top | Topper | Jojo | President

Rhubarb

Our rhubarb season begins in early March with produce grown in greenhouses and on fields with heating. From April we supply rhubarb grown outdoors under double foils. A particularly tasty variety is the raspberry rhubarb ‘Framboozen rood’, which is mild in flavour and with a pleasing colour. This variety makes up 95% of what we grow. The entire season runs from the beginning of March to mid-June.
